The structure of deoxidizer mainly includes the following parts:
Main ingredients:
Iron deoxidizer: The main ingredients include iron powder, silicon dioxide, activated carbon, water, edible salt, etc. These ingredients work together to consume the oxygen in the package by reacting with oxygen, thereby achieving the effect of preservation and antiseptic.
Non-iron deoxidizer: The main ingredients are ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and salt. Salt acts as a catalyst to accelerate the overall oxidation reaction and release carbon dioxide at the same time. It is suitable for canned and bottled products because it releases carbon dioxide while absorbing oxygen and will not cause packaging deformation.
Working principle:
Iron deoxidizer: Iron powder is used to react with oxygen and water to generate iron hydroxide to consume oxygen, thereby achieving the purpose of deoxidation. This reaction will cause the deoxidizer to change from black and gray particles to brown and agglomerate.
Non-iron deoxidizer: Ascorbic acid reacts with oxygen to generate carbon dioxide, thereby consuming oxygen in the package. This deoxidizer is suitable for canned and bottled products because it releases carbon dioxide while absorbing oxygen and will not cause packaging deformation.
Application scenarios
Iron deoxidizer: Commonly used in food packaging, it absorbs oxygen to prevent food from discoloration, deterioration and oil rancidity due to oxidation, and also has an inhibitory effect on the growth of mold, aerobic bacteria and food pests.
